To me, journalism means more than just reporting facts. It involves identifying what is truly relevant, separating information from noise, and providing the reader with the context needed to understand the big picture. My experience in television—working as an editor, reporter, and in production at Național TV, Realitatea TV, and România TV—shaped my skills in an environment where thorough research, topic selection, and message clarity are essential. I was involved in the entire process of creating journalistic content, from selecting subjects and preparing interviews to writing, filming, editing, and managing the material within the broadcast workflow.
A significant stage in my professional journey was serving as a correspondent for Realitatea TV in Madrid. This role required autonomy, speed, and the ability to manage the entire journalistic process: identifying and researching topics, preparing interviews, writing news stories, filming and editing footage, transmitting material to the newsroom, and delivering live reports. This experience honed my editorial discipline and instilled in me the habit of viewing local events within a broader context.
My interest in security, diplomacy, and international relations culminated in a Master’s degree in Security and Diplomacy from SNSPA. My academic training provided a rigorous framework for understanding security issues and bridging the gap between journalism and the intelligence field—skills such as source analysis, information correlation, identifying key interests, and situating events within a strategic context. I view intelligence not as a realm of the sensational, but as a field where discernment, rigor, and the ability to derive meaning from disparate pieces of information are essential.
In the Journal, I aim to combine my media experience with my background in security, adopting an editorial approach that is clear, responsible, and context-aware. I am interested in content that goes beyond a mere chronology of events to explain underlying mechanisms, interests, risks, and consequences. I believe in an intelligence-focused publication that treats its readers as informed partners—avoiding sensationalism, prioritizing source reliability, clearly distinguishing between facts and interpretations, and providing sufficient context for a deep understanding of every topic.
